Hey technically we all made money on stadia. Bought the Cyberpunk 2077 bundle which came with a stadia kit with controller and chromecast 4k. For around $70-80 if memory serves me correct. Played it for a while and hated that the controller was wifi for direct stadia connection and only wired if I wanted to use it for anything else on my PC/phone. Sold the controller/chromecast bundle on ebay for $90. Continued to play Cyberpunk and Destiny2 over Stadia with mouse and keyboard until the service shutdown and Google refunded me for the original purchase.

> I warned people not to buy games on Stadia. I got a full refund for the Stadia games and hardware - which I got to keep (free 4k Chromecast and Bluetooth controller!). The shutdown of Stadia could not have been handled better - if Google handled all their other service sunsets like they did with Stadia, I'd be more inclined to take a risk with Google. Packing a controller and a Chromecast was the epitome of traveling light, and served me very well when I had to travel a lot for work. I could resume my games on hotel room TVs, or even on an underpowered laptop. Stadia's UX was frictionless - the couple of times I tried Nvidia's streaming, it felt a lot clunkier

Happy user of Stadia here. Fit the dad gamer in off hours usecase perfectly. Spent enough on it that even the total refund felt like something. And now on top of that I own a controller to use with the GeForce Now embedded in my LG TV. Consumer galore.

The Stadia controller is/was my favorite controller of any recent consoles (with my next-fave being maybe a PS1 variant). I've been using it wired with looong cords on other platforms because it just feels so good in hand. Very, very happy to hear this news. It'll be nice to go back to wireless.
