I had the 3c and the Revo. The Revo was initially a revelation. I paired it with an infrared modem connected to a Nokia that enabled me to surf the internet and get driving directions on the move 7 years before the iPhone. Alas working with the iMac was a pain and the Revo would randomly lose memory due to a power system design flaw. At that stage I ditched Revo and Psion for a HP WinCE device. More of a downgrade. I purchased the Gemini PDA when it came out. It was marvellous but expensive and fragile. I now have a DIamond Mako and a 5mx that I play with occasionally. In hindsight the best Psion was the 3c. It was affordable, robust and just worked. It got stolen on a bus in Chile in '97. Otherwise I bet I would still be using it.

I got huge amount of mileage out of Psion Revo. It was more limited than 5mx, but exactly the right form factor to write anywhere. And well, having usable spreadsheet, OPL and EMX Unix-like environment was also a large plus. And well, I got it almost new-in-a-box in 2005 for something like 50EUR. Sadly the battery died and I managed to break the hinge while replacing the battery.

I used to be a heavy user of my Psion Revo back in the 2000s. It had a highly usable full-featured office suite, and I truly used it as a laptop replacement at the time. I was able to touch-type my university course on it, and it could even fit a shirt front pocket. Honestly, the only thing that quickly made it obsolete was the lack of network connectivity (limited to infrared). It's still one of the computing devices for which I have the fondest memories.

I had a Psion Revo [1] in high school and I wish I still knew where it was! I suspect it might be among some things maybe in my moms garage, or perhaps it was lost in so many moves. But it would be a super fun little vintage computer to play with. The Revo had IRDA for infrared wireless serial, which would be fun to use with a raspberry pi. They’re for sale on eBay but not cheap enough for a cute curiosity. [1] Wikipedia tells me it’s a “light version” of the computer in TFA: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psion_Revo
