I’ve been using Wayland on Debian 12 since 2023. On an Apple Studio Display (5K) over thunderbolt (the built-in camera, speakers, etc work fine) I screen share and video call with Slack and Google Meet. I use alacritty/zsh/tmux as my terminal. I use chromium as my browser, vscode and sublime text as code editors. Slack, Spotify, my studio mic, my Scarlett 2i2, 10gbe networking, thunderbolt, Logitech unifying receiver…. Literally everything “just works” and has been a joy to use. Only issues I’ve ever faced have been forcing an app to run native Wayland not xwayland (varies from app to app but usually a cli flag needed) and Bluetooth pairing with my Sony noise canceling which is unrelated to Wayland. Periodically I get into a dance where it won’t pair, but most of the time it pairs fine.

1) Imperceptible. Some angle snapping issues which will annoy elite gamers. It's a task mouse, and will not suit for pro gaming, but, then, no wireless mouse will. 2) Bluetooth or Logitech Unifying Receiver. It has a button on the bottom of the mouse to swap the computer it's paired with and it can be hot paired to three devices, and that works well.

I found that I also had terrible problems when using any bluetooth headset in voice mode on zoom calls along with MX keys. The entire computer would stutter, keys would lag, the mouse would lag, and I'd sound like a robot on calls. The headset would also get stuck in voice mode after calls, and I'd have to forcibly restart bluetoothaudiod. The unifying receiver is unusable through a hub or connected monitor, and I don't have enough USB-A ports on the dongle to keep the unifying receiver connected all the time. Switched to an apple keyboard, and never experienced the problem with the MX mouse connected.

Logitech Unifying Receiver is basically rebranded, slightly-tweaked bluetooth from what I can tell. I've had a lot of them running in the same room together and not had a problem. I have a ridiculously priced Topre Realforce, but when friends and family ask for a recommendation or I'm helping them setup a machine I would definitely recommend something like this if they're up for spending a little more. Historically I've been recommending the Logitech K840 in those scenarios. This looks like a wireless upgrade to that.

> Mice, keyboards and printers have been wireless for ages. Doesn't necessarily mean they use USB-C though. Logitech's Unifying receivers are still (sadly) reliant upon USB-A, although someone modified one of them to use USB-C instead[0] :-) [0]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-vFtiDYiIw
