I've had an MX Master mouse (the "2" for maybe 8-9 years then the "3" for 2-3 years now) and love it. Great performance, great battery life, fantastic design and feel. On Windows I definitely do not love the 150Mb program to manage it (surely sending a torrent of unnecessary telemetry data back to Logitech. I found Solaar a couple months ago after getting repeatedly frustrated with bluetooth connection issues. It really is exactly what it needs to be. Better interface than Logitech's, simple, lightweight. Devs have my thanks; what a great show of the goodness of open source software.

here [0] is a teardown of the current generation compared to the previous, to show how much design and attention to detail goes in to them. I was an MX Master 2 user for years, and bought a 3, along with an MX Keys [1] at the beginning of covid WFH. still going strong 2 years later, and I would buy both again in a heartbeat. 0: https://blog.bolt.io/logitech-mx-master-3-vs-2s/ 1: https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/keyboards/mx-keys-wi...

I also think this but as a counterpoint, I use Logitech MX Master 2. It has a micro-usb port for charging, but only connects wirelessly. I think this is a necessary decision, because the only way this could work well with both a wired and wireless mode is turning off the wireless part when plugged in. But to the OS this would be a different mouse, with potentially different settings, causing confusion for users. Amusingly, you can find many forum posts online, where users complain that this mouse "isn't working even when plugged in", with replies of "mine works when plugged in" (unknowingly using wireless).
