Parent had this exact issue: > getting repeatedly frustrated with bluetooth connection issues My suggestion to use the bolt reciever was in response to that. Why you suggest to me and parent to just forget about it because you have such great experience is depressing to me. I have the MX Master 3 and MX Keys Mini. Using Solaar on Linux for 2.5 years without a single issue. I did have more issues using pure bluetooth with an external bt antenna (intel bluetooth hardware).

I'm a fan of scissor switch keyboards, which I think makes me a bit odd - I got used to them from laptops and now I have an MX Keys Mini that I really like. I like the short travel and the tactile nature of them - I tried a slim mechanical (Nuphy Air75) but it still slowed me down considerably and was uncomfortable. I touch type but not home-row, so maybe my chaotic typing style doesn't work on heavier keys.

I like this question because I come at it from a very different lifestyle. I’m a digital nomad and I have mostly lived out of a backpack and carry on for the past 10 years. My philosophy is that things have to be worth carrying and they should be very easily replaceable if anything gets lost, stolen or breaks. A few of my under $100 favs: Universal GaN travel adapter: One of those square bricks that converts from any AC outlet to any AC outlet and has 3 or 4 USB charging ports built in. I got enough wattage to charge my usb-c laptop as well, so one brick takes care of all my devices. Backup android phone: Our phones are so critical that I keep a hot swappable spare phone on me, currently a Moto G 2025. It’s already logged into all my apps and 2FA. I could throw my iPhone into the Seine and keep on trucking. It even has backup NFC credit cards. I keep a cheap travel eSim plan active on it so that if I am somewhere sketchy I can leave my main phone at home. Logitech MX Keys Mini: Great portable keyboard. Backlit, usb c and multi-device. Typing this post out on my phone now. GL-iNet Beryl: The do anything travel VPN router running OpenWRT out of the box. Great for securing and extending sketchy WiFi connections or if you have to work off your phone’s hotspot all day. Decathalon Quecha Escape 500 23L: Such a great personal item size backpack for the price, less than 40 euros.

I switched to the MX Anywhere 3S from the Anywhere 3 and now it has become my favorite mouse by far. I have one at the office and one at home. The silent buttons feel just right for me and the higher sensitivity has been a game changer in terms of the overall experience of using the mouse. The movement feels so much smoother and more natural than with the Anywhere 3. I also use LinearMouse (I'm on macOS) for configuring the mouse and it covers all my current needs. My configuration mostly consists of: - Disable pointer acceleration - Set tracking speed to 1 - Reverse scrolling - Scroll by 4 lines - Button #4 for Cmnd+W (close current tab, which works in most applications) - (No explicit change) Button #3 default action (go back) Together with the MX Keys Mini it's a liberating feeling being happy with the peripherals and not wanting to change anything (except for a few small annoyances with the top keyboard row).

What sort of keyboard are you looking for, for what use? It might help by sharing your favorite keyboard, and what you like about it. Some of the features to consider (by no means exhaustive): 1. Width: 60%, TKL, or full-size 2. Height: Normal or low-profile 3. Key layout: Ergonomic, ortho, staggered 4. OS-friendly layout: Mac or Windows 5. Switches: clicky, tactile, linear 6. Misc: RGB, programmable keys, wireless Personally I like 60% low-profile clicky keyboards. I use a Keychron K7 at home and MX Keys Mini at work.
