100B isn't too far fetched. I can run 27B-iq3s on my Pixel 10 Pro XL (it'll run larger models but at slower speed). It depends on the quant and the number of active parameters, since MOE models are the obvious choice for a mobile device. Something like 100B-A10B would be really nice if it can run reasonably fast. Mobile GPUs will get a boost along the way no doubt.

I tried it on my Pixel 10 Pro XL as well. Latest version of GrapheneOS, latest play store version of the app and it works. Even tried completely nuking app data and logging in again. Login, security check, fingerprint setup, everything worked (I even got the alert that it used the Play Integrity API) I assume if anything, this is probably the contactless payments. I do somewhat understand why they are really trying to lock something like this down, but as everyone pointed out, giving the green light to a CVE infested version of Android while prohibiting the use of a version that goes above and beyond when it comes to security is absurd.

I have had a mixed experience. Bought my Mom a Pixel 9a. It seems to be running fine with no issues. Bought a Pixel 10 Pro XL for myself and had to return it. Connectivity issues (WiFi connected, but no internet), screen losing colors (white would turn gray), ghosting issues (scrolled/hidden content would stay on screen for a period of time).

If this Gemma tokenizer I found online is accurate then my Pixel 10 Pro XL is getting ~22 tok/s on Gemma 4 E2B using the NPU, vs. 40 tok/s is what people are saying the MLX version gets on iPhone. Actually I found official performance numbers from Google saying iPhone gets 56 tok/s and Qualcomm gets 52. They don't even bother listing Tensor in their table. Maybe because it would be too embarrassing. Ouch! https://ai.google.dev/edge/litert-lm/overview

> tempted to go back to Pixels I got my first Pixel (10 Pro XL); Only because their AI integration felt cool. My iPhone 11 Pro is still doing great overall, besides sluggishness here and there, and random Chrome crashes. I might consider upgrading to 17 now due to speed and camera upgrades. Honestly, it was not an exciting upgrade, just like their last 5.

Nothing(TM) looks like it could be a decent choice, but they're generally weak hardware compared to a 9 Pro XL class device, and I'm not a fan of Samsung any more as a company, though it seems a S2X Ultra might be the only real option. Even the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is getting close to the price of an S26 here and the S26 will absolutely blow it out of the water when it comes to pretty much every facet of the hardware. Pixel 9/10 Pro XL is a midrange SoC sold at flagship prices. Even the A57, which is a midrange Samsung model that will soon hit 350 Euro is faster single core than the Pixel 9 Pro and on par multi-core. Also has better battery life and despite only being 0.1" smaller weighs 42g less and is much thinner. Gets supported for 6 years and also gets monthly updates. Also doesn't die frequently with spicy pillows, camera bars that drop off, etc. I still buy Pixels because it has an unlockable bootloader and can run GrapheneOS, but Google's pricing is insane and I wish that they would go back to the old price points. The 10a is the only Pixel with somewhat reasonable pricing for what it provides, but unfortunately they made the hardware differences larger than in the past (e.g. be not upgrading to the latest Tensor SoC).

The Pixel 9 had a vastly improved modem and the 10 switched to TSMC for their Tensor SoC, resulting in better performance and better battery life/less heat. It's true that the SoCs are not that great for an expensive flagship phone, but the trick is buying a Pixel halfway the cycle, when the prices go to mid-range. For instance, currently in my country: - Pixel 10 is 350 Euro off (currently 549 Euro). - Pixel 10 Pro is 360 Euro off (currently 739 Euro). - Pixel 10 Pro XL is 360 Euro off (currently 939 Euro). - The Pixel A series are less interesting currently, because it's still early in the cycle, but the 9a is 200 Euro off (349) and the 10a is 120 Euro off (428). It's a shame that they switched to last-gen SoCs and modems now on the A-series now. I know that the Pixel 100 is coming soon-ish, but the 10 series have floated around those price points since 5-6 months after the release. the 10 is eSIM only Looking at my P10P with physical SIM. I guess you are in the US?
