I currently sticky-tape my Fitbit Inspire 3 to my tricep to get continuous low effort health/sleep tracking. I used sticky tape as an experiment because there are no arm bands for Fitbit products. That was a year and a half ago and have worn it like that every day since. I can't wait until trackers can be implanted under the skin, track blood glucose, and improved accuracy. Let's gooooo

I'd be more worried that a replacement product wouldn't be available after 2 years of use. 2 years seems quite good for a small product. As a tangential question, how do people find the new pebbles? I prefer a smartwatch that lasts more than a couple of days between charges. And want one with a screen that stays on. The Fitbit Charge 3 I had never detected raising my arm.

I just got my first Garmin Watch (Venu 3) in December for Xmas. So far I'm enjoying it. I'm happy to see the company knows how to survive because my last few smart watches didn't fare so well, not exactly from market changes, but from acquisitions. I had the original Pebble and Pebble 2. Loved them. Then one day Pebble was just shut down because of an acquisition by Fibit[1]. There was a group of people that started Rebble[2] to restore web services and support the watch but I was not interested so I switched over to Fitbit. I had the Fitbit Versa 2 and Versa 3 watches and for a while they were great. Then Google bought Fitbit[3]. The impending "Killed by Google" was always in the back of mind, especially since they already sold smart watches. But I have been on Pixel phones for a while now and I thought maybe Google buying them would lead to good things. At first not much changed, but eventually I started having issues with the watch (more info about that below) and I got fed up with it and now I have a Garmin Watch. I had to go in and manually reconnect it. I also had issues using the voice command feature. I used to be able to use my G…

I really want this for sleep tracking. There are so many devices, each have their own algorithm for sleep tracking and the device I pick largely depends on the accuracy of the device's sleep tracking. However there are new apps, like Nukkuaa, an (EU only) sleep analysis app that uses any heart-rate tracker (like a bluetooth fitness chest strap) and infers sleep quality from the data. A generic app expands what devices are available to me. Right now I use CGM tape and stick a Fitbit Charge 3 on my tricep - but I dislike the Fitbit app and if I change to another brand I cannot export my logs. A third party app has the potential to train against more data than any individual single brand could and, with appropriate tagging, could possible offer better accuracy. Open source would be icing on the cake. Additionally, it would be great if devices like the Fitbit Charge could be used as a bluetooth heart rate monitor that can be used on apps that consume trackers on a (presumably) standard API (like TrainerRoad, Zwift, etc). - https://www.nukkuaa.com/en

Tried to use the Fitbit inspire 3 on my iPhone, but it kept losing the bluetooth connection after a few hours and notifications would not go through. Still, the bluetooth connection indicator would be active. I ended up returning it and switched back to my trusty GTS Mini 2, which worked flawlessly (and probably sent all my data to China).
