Yep, and then they are much easier to lose, step on, have drop out of your ear while you are running and disappear Somewhere on a rails-to-trails at the foot of the Cascade Mountains is a single Beats Powerbeat that was flung to the ground in the middle of a 50 mile race after I pulled a piece of clothing over my head. I was leading the race, so I spent just the barest amount of time looking, but never found it. Damned things ain’t cheap, either. I should have just thrown the other one to the ground, so at least someone might have a matched set. At the same time, if I had to dick around with wired headphones, I wouldn’t have used them at all.

Honestly I would've agreed with you wholeheartedly at the time they took away the jack, but several years on, I'm good with it. I've owned both the original AirPods and the original PowerBeats and now have a Sony WX headset for when I don't need buds. I've lost one... I left it on the hood of my car, unfortunately, my own damn fault and I was able to get a replacement ordered from Apple. Apart from that, never lost em, and in the odd event I forget to charge them, putting the powerbeats at least on a USB lead for about 5 minutes will get me roughly 70% charge into both beats, even if the case is dead, which is enough for several hours of playback time. I thought I would miss it, but I genuinely just don't give a shit about the lack of audio jack.

I have Powerbeats 3 which I assume function similar to other apple earbuds. I use them while cycling & mountain biking and find that sometimes when I pass another person they stop working. Anyone experience the same behavior? Is there a reason?

The current version of the Powerbeats Pro has separate buds for each ear, but I have the newest revision of the regular Powerbeats for this exact reason. They even have the H1 chip and all of the quick pairing/built-in Apple magic that Airpods do.
